PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS MESSAGE, AS THERE IS A LOT OF INFORMATION.

The District Tournament is this Sunday (03/07/21). Everyone (High school and Middle school) needs to meet at the archery range, NO LATER than 11:30 am. Parking will be limited, so please carpool. As you know, under the Governor’s current order, we are limited to only 50 people at outside events, and it is mandated that everyone wear a mask and social distance. Therefore, each participant will be allowed to have ONLY TWO spectators. The WHST is fortunate to have a lot of parental support. That being said, if your parent is a coach, they WILL count as one of your two spectators. Furthermore, EVERYONE will be required to wear a mask and maintain a social distance of 6 feet, ANYTIME they are out of their vehicle. The social distancing does include distancing from family members, as well. If you need to remove your mask for any reason, please return to your vehicle to do so. NC Wildlife Officials have informed us that these regulations will be strictly enforced and if we are not in compliance, the officers will leave, and the team will be disqualified. As you know, District and State Tournaments were cancelled last year, so we are very fortunate to be having a tournament this year. The coaches, parents and Wildlife Officials have worked hard to make this happen and the participants have worked very hard in preparation for this event. Therefore, if anyone is not following these regulations, they will be asked to leave. We need everyone’s help in ensuring these regulations are followed. Attached to this email, are the Team Event Rosters for District. This is always one of the hardest things the coaches have to do each year, but this year is was extra hard as we have so many talented shooters. On the Event Roster, if there is an “X” by your name, then you are competing in that event. Participants, search all of your cases. There can be NO broadhead, ammo or shell casings of ANY kind! If you are caught with any of these in your possession, you will be disqualified, and the team will be penalized 50 points. Make sure you bring all of your gear including, but not limited to: Lawn chair for taking test Guns in a case, unloaded, with safety on Bows and arrows (with one extra arrow) Eye and ear protection Mask Ammo pouch for shotgun Please wear your red WHST apparel (if you have it).
